Eras of Hope Fashion Show

This was a fun event benefiting One Hope United and produced by Benjamin Cottrell Designs. The guests "traveled through time" as the designs on the runway went from the 20s look to the future. For this event I decided to wear a hat.

Masquerade Ball

This was an event all about dressing up and wearing masks. I got a chance to get mine airbrushed. Here are some pictures before and after @_@ See the full video of the event, which also shows how my mask was done.

Release of the squirrel

Got an email from Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation informing me that my baby grey squirrel "was released back into the wild once it was completely recovered and able to survive on its own." The squirrel would have been about 4 months old by now. I'm guessing that's old enough to be able to survive on it's own.

How I ended up with a squirrel as a pet

One day I was crossing the parking lot to get to the grocery store, and noticed something odd on the ground. A little tiny grey baby squirrel. At first, I thought it was dead, as it not move as I approached it. To this day, I don't know how it ended up in the middle of a parking lot with hardly any trees around.

After a split second of consideration, I made the decision that the baby squirrel is coming home with me. It didn't fight me, as I slowly picked it up and I took that as a sign that it didn't sustain any major damage, like broken bones. At home, I made a small nest out of a towel and left the squirrel alone.

For the next two weeks, the baby squirrel lived with me. It recovered quite fast from what I diagnosed as fatigue. Once it had a good day/night/day sleep it appeared to be a healthy squirrel with lots of energy and big appetite.

As much as I wanted, I couldn't keep it indefinitely. I lived in a fairly small apartment with hardly any light. And definitely no backyard, that the squirrel could have enjoyed. Eventually, I took it to Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. I was promised they'll take good care of the baby squirrel and will release it into the wild once it was ready.
